About Me

William qualified as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 1999. He practised as an advocate before moving in executive search fifteen years ago.

He set up the executive search practice at GNG Search/Graham Gill Consulting in 2004 with a focus on sourcing Partners, Teams and senior in-house lawyers for UK and US led International law firms, boutique law firms and Corporates. This became one of the market leading practices and was combined with Signium in 2015 in order to offer increased resource and global coverage to clients. Signium is one of the world's leading executive search firms, with consultants in 40 offices across 25 countries covering Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Signium offers William's clients global coverage and deep local expertise.

Whilst William has significant experience of undertaking search mandates for partners, teams and senior lawyers across many legal practice areas including corporate, commercial, litigation, finance, IP/IT, TMT, tax, real estate, projects and regulatory, he is renowned as a market leader in the antitrust/competition space where he has been responsible for many headline moves.

William is often consulted by law firm management to advise on growth strategy in Europe. This has led to his having been retained on a number of mandates to identify and approach merger targets for law firm clients. He is also known for his market intelligence and is often instructed by law firms to carry out due diligence assignments on potential partner hires.

When not at work, he enjoys cycling which led to his taking part in the Broadgate Estates ride from London to Cannes in 2015 in aid of Coram. He has completed the London marathon and is a keen skier and fly fisherman.
